Okay, decided to pick up a bass for myself, saw the prices, read the reviews, and I pretty much knew what to expect. Discount was excellent, no complaints there. The bass itself is very pretty, very sturdy, and sounds pretty good. Bear in mind, I'm playing it with a pick, so I can't say how it'd be for other playing methods, but nonetheless, the sound is warm and vibratey. Knobs have a sturdy feel, and everything's pretty good so far. It doesn't feel "cheap" or "entry-level" at all, which is wonderful. The amp's really really dense, didn't expect that, but it's got plenty of power for a dorm or apartment, and the sound is nice. I've heard amps with a "warmer" feel, but this one does its job. The 1/4" male/male audio cable feels a little flimsy, but it hasn't broken yet. A little longer and sturdier would be nice though. The strap on the bass feels a little cheap, as does the bag, but they both work well enough for me right now. The tuner's confusing and, essentially, useless. I tried it with both the mic and the audio jack, neither helps. The picks don't feel like they're going to snap or break, so that's nice too.br /br /Bottom line: The bass is great, it comes with a good small amp, and the accessories are a bit cheap, but the price is awesome.
